Margaretville Pavilion

Architect: David J. Lewis & the 2006 Parsons Design Workshop Students
Location:  Margaretville, New York

A 6000 square foot wood and steel pole structure located in a FEMA flood plain and a high wind area, requiring a unique foundation system. In addition the building was to be constructed entirely by the students, so any solution for both the pavilion structure and the site anchoring had to be accomplished by their labor. There was no budget available for heavy equipment. These factors dictated the materials used as well as the placement procedures.
